Our snouts rooting for truffles

Rooting like a pig
searching for truffles
sometimes unable to look up
Bound so much
by our sense of self

Being of clay,
tied to the earth
Not seeing grace
as our gift from God

Not seeing learning
from our bouts of sin
seeing only the dust before us
Our snouts search only
in the dust of earth
