Latent Prints
latent prints of the Potter
invisible to the naked eye
but still there written
God’s hands leaving a mark
pressed into my clay
the marks of the potter
the loops, the arches, the whorls
visible only within me
in my inmost parts
the ridge patterns evident
God molding my dust
with hands, with fingers
God’s mark upon me
deep within, lasting
latent prints there too
if we would only see
