My name on their palms

I know how much it hurts
when pain is a person
history cries out
their names upon my palms

My name on their palms
those who I have hurt
intentional, without thought
my bumbling in the world

I pray they would choose to forgive
to commit their pain to the spirit
that they would turn it over to God
leaving it at the cross

I know the burden
weight of unresolved anger
a cancer eating at the spirit
the spark within our lives
