Not picking up the Banner

not going into battle
not picking up the banner
finding other ways
to advocate for justice

sometimes more harm
in seeing the wrong before us
not choosing to fight
to guard our better judgment

husband our voice within us
a bit on the tongue
leaving it for other days
God’s work yet begun
