We truly cannot follow
even if we had wanted
in this dark night
in humility and sacrifice
Christ walks the path alone
of suffering, to the cross
We fall away, we run
we deny his name
we betray him before power
for a few small coins
yet he is counting on us
to share why he came
to be his light in the
darkness
of this troubled world
We are now commissioned
to join Christ’s ministry
sharing the love of God
to the ends of the earth
proclaiming the light of
Christ
his presence in the world.
