spiritual agony – v2

the divine and the human
in torment in the night
there in the garden, Gethsemane,
an open wound, a cry to God
sweat of blood falling
from his life
the cup, our shame
smeared on the lamb
the stain of our sin
the cup of our bile
our rebellion from God
destined for the cross

Mark 7:21-23 (NIV)
Mark 7:20-23 (The Message)
‘He (Christ) went on: "It's what comes out of a person that pollutes:

deceptive dealings, carousing, mean looks, slander, arrogance,
foolishness—all these are vomit from the heart.
There is the source of your pollution."’
