God must see us
merely, only
Arrogant clay, stubborn
a bit too presumptuous
saying to the Potter
who He can invite
to sit at His table
How can we impose our will
how can Man set rules
rules at the Lord’s table
that some would be segregated
separated from his grace
That some are deemed unworthy
that any would stand in judgment
telling the Creator who to sit at the table
Man’s rules at God’s table
the arrogance of power
We stand in judgment
judging our neighbors
Meting out God’s grace
as if it was ours to give
setting some outside
coming to Christ’s table
a prayer that we will live
