Utter incongruity
an image disjointed
something not right
jarred my drive
to the coffeehouse
My eye pulled, drawn
to the cluster of prom
dresses,
dapper Dan’s, newly
purchased
bright colored and freshly
polished
at the end of the driveway
before the prom, primped and
coiffed
photos by their parents
But something was amiss, out
of place
A crimson prom dress
under the black leather gang
jacket
Her colors, jarring under
her new prom tresses
