My best present, all
of you,
of any Christmas, any
holiday
becoming man and wife,
children,
a whole family
together
married under the sky
in the park, the cold,
that early-winter
morning
They were watching
our three daughters
already formed people
little ones I cherish
hearing our vows, our
promise,
the ancient words of
Ruth
your name changing
joyful in the cold
Snowing as we kissed
cold under the blue
flakes on my
shoulder, my tie
becoming one together
pledging our love to
each other
under the snowy sky
that early-winter
morning
