from the
depths of my soul
I cry out
for purpose
to be
valued
to share,
to witness
but I also
cry out
for money,
for comfort
for a
debt-free path
the rest of
my days
too great a
burden
my history,
my past
carried
with me
into each
future
I cry out
for peace
to know I
make a difference
that my
days have worth
that they
have meaning.
