Our
barns, full, bursting
our
harvest not shared;
Gathered
to the edges
like
the rich man’s treasure.
Grain
stored for a lifetime
no
cares, yet not enough;
Wanting
more, bigger barns,
for
more stockpiled, gathered in.
All
of it is worthless, the grain, the harvest,
his
possessions, all he had stored up;
It
is worthless before God,
come
for an accounting of his days.
Where
was his heart, his charity,
the
treasures that he kept;
Storing
up grain, for himself,
useless
on that Judgment Day.
