at best we were nothing
worthless lumps of clay
the stuff of the earth
molded into bodies
filled with the breath of
God
at our worst we were
enemies
of God, of the Trinity,
fighting for a false
freedom
wandering from the garden
rebelling against our God
at God’s best He redeemed
us
showing a love unmerited
nothing we deserved,
that we can earn
given freely by Jesus
at our worst God was at
His best
showing us grace and
mercy
healing us in our
sinfulness
our brokenness, our
rebellion
sacrificing for us to
redeem us again
