in a moment of power, forgiveness – v3

They were all at his mercy, vulnerable,
needing his kindness, his grace;
In a moment of power, there was forgiveness
he offered them love instead

He saw the plan, the hand of God
giving them grace they didn’t deserve;
in a moment of power, he offered forgiveness
wiping the slate clean

He gave them more than they deserved
life, love, mercy, compassion;
He chose to heal the brokenness
the rift that was between them

He drew them close to him
in mercy and in love;
He chose love, forgiveness
to heal the family
