Sometimes I would see
the
flash of recognition
on
the face of the client, the bailiff
when
I mentioned my home address
living
on Cedar Street,
between
Maple and Beech
in
downtown Manch-Vegas;
Instant
understanding
of
my own kinship
more
able to represent them
those
on the margins
those
from neighborhoods
more
like my own
in
downtown Manch-Vegas.
