The Wind off the Ocean – v2

The wind off the ocean
after the hurricane, the maelstrom,
Like pumice in the air
like glass shard
sand eating my flesh.

Turning away,
from the sting of the missiles
like tiny daggers
the fine particles
pushed by the wind.
