when Fall becomes Winter

a moment, separation
not on the calendar
but by the turning
a change self-evident
if we are looking, seeking
if we are truly present

when Fall becomes Winter
a moment, a demarcation
frost on the fallen leaves
snow in the grasses
frozen, breathtaking
in our throats

Children’s message – mystery box
-          green maple leaf and a colored maple leaf
-          the green color of the leaves is not the true color
-          this is the color we have when we are being fed
-          nurtured in the spring and summer with the Word;
-          we shine our true colors in autumn
-          sharing our true color with God and the world
-          staying close to God
-          each an individual
-          shining the colors of Christ
