a blizzard, a torrent, a burning brushfire...

When the evidence is finally leaked,
only a trickle at this moment,
multiple sources, multiple files,
multiple revenge motives…
 
A blizzard, a torrent, a burning brushfire…
like the scandals before them
the truth will come out, destroying,
everything burned in its wake…
 
Suddenly, the flood gate will be released,
Pandora’s Box will be wide open,
the secrets they so long have guarded
will be brought into the light…
 
No longer hidden, names of the powerful,
brought low by their secrets, their crimes,
their deviance, these pedophiles,
will be brought to the ground…

I hear the words of others

in conversation, in community,

the words that come to my mind,

“Do we deserve better

than the choice before us;

How did we end up

with such damaged, broken people

to lead, to guide our nation

that we love, that we hold dear;

Do we deserve better,

do we really, truly,

when we have been divided

as a people as a nation?”

Not absolved of their guilt – v3

Maybe it is true

that others incite them

with their rhetoric, their speech,

yet they are still responsible

they are not absolved of their guilt;

No matter their anger

what the source is of no import

we are called to be temperate

in control of the spark;

they control their anger

the steps of their walk
