my history real

not wrapped in sugar

open before God

may the truth be told

so others may see You

how You claimed me

that I may love

that I may share Your love

only because You loved me

completely, truly,

more than I could ever say

love without merit

redeeming my life

loving me, forgiving me

though I have hurt You

though my sins sent You to the cross

wash me with Your blood

make me whole once more

as I live out my life

Your plan for my life

and the mess I have made of it

so others may see You

we must be gentle in rebuke

loving in correction

because we have all fallen short

a presence with me

Your Goodness gives life

Your goodness will never leave me

all the days of my life

Your mercy upon me

forgiving my sin

turning toward my Savior

in Him do I live.
