If I was a superhero,

I would want the gift,

the superpower -

Courage to overcome

my fears and the power

to help other

hope in a future – v2

my only choice

hope in a future

that which must be

ordained by God

stuck in my past

not able to let go

too much to bear, to carry

feeling lost, alone

bound in my present

the ache of the unknown

wanting to spread my wings

but feeling held down

not sensing God’s touch

His call to me, purpose,

listening to the wind

my joy abated, I am fearful

hope in a future

uncharted, yet written

known by God only

I must trust in its unfurling

stuck in my past

stuck in the past

stuck in my clay, depression

mired in the past

too much to bear, to carry

feeling alone, abandoned;

not feeling God’s presence,

His hand on my path

not sensing God’s touch

His call to me, purpose,

listening to the wind

joy abated, fearful;

truth of the path I have chosen,

not liking the picture forming

I am healed by the touch of my Savior

I am healed by the touch of my Savior
as surely as that leper,
humbling himself before Christ
kneeling in the dust

Coming forward to Jesus
asking for healing touch
to be healed of his disease, estrangement
that which cast him out
the mark of Satan, of sin
a symbol on unclean flesh

I am healed by the touch of my Savior
falling on my knees, praying
knowing I am unworthy to sit at his feet
by the touch of the Master

The guiding of my potter,
the Spirit back to my path
to be healed of my iniquity
washed clean of my sin
that which is ever before me
burned upon my heart

I am healed by the touch of my Savior
his wounded hands upon me
by his death for me, for humanity
reaching from the pit to lift me

In him I am made whole
alive in Jesus, the Christ,
to speak of God’s power
to testify to his love
oh yes, I am healed by the touch of my Savior
in him I am redeemed
