Raw and authentic,
A window into my soul,
My thoughts, my living spirit…
 
My words are who I am,
The essence of my being,
My struggles, my joys,
All that is within me…
 
My words are who I am,
Words flow like living water,
My words, God’s words, well up,
They rise from my eternal spirit…

We are our own companion,
walking with us in this life,
for there is no other, truly…
 
We are our hope, our light,
our center, our balance,
walking on this earth,
in every step we take…
 
Our own life, authentic,
is our light, our message,
we must stay true to ourselves,
within our own person…

at peace in our person,
witness to our own truth,
the path, on our life’s journey…
 
We must share openly,
our genuine self, naked,
we must offer ourselves,
authentic on our life’s journey…

being at peace in our person,
We must witness to our own truth,
the path, on our life’s journey…
 
We must share openly,

To tell the #story – v2 #poetry

Sometimes my words may be edited,
filtered from a prism, through a lens,
not perfect reality, transparent,
unblemished, unvarnished truth.
 
Like macrophotographs taken,
cropped, edges blurred,
a horizon line altered,
for precision, for effect.
 
All to tell the story, the words,
focus, images essential, power,
how to convey the substance,
when details are obscured…

how to pray – v3

wanting to emulate the saints

those who have gone before me

to pray for spiritual blessing

not a list of wants

things of this earth

turning to the Word

ancient words of scripture

as true now as when they were written

showing how to pray more deeply

richer words to God.

how to pray – v2

bowing as did Jesus

hungry as were the disciples

to know how to pray

wanting to emulate the saints

those who have gone before me

to pray for spiritual blessing

not a list of wants, desires

turning to the Word
