A sword of
Damocles,
a curse, a
warning, explicit,
on notice,
responsible, held to account,
burdened, even
for others’ failures,
one strike and
you are out.
no matter the
circumstances,
the precedent,
the capriciousness,
the callousness
of the rules, the edicts
defining the
terms, the consequences,
of even a moment
of failure;
No recourse, “no,
get out.”
