the harvest is plentiful – v3

arise, be ready,
workers, reapers,
the fields are full
God’s people ready
waiting for harvest
for the gathering in

the fields are alive
bright with fall colors
the harvest is plentiful
but the workers are few;
too many waiting
for the harvest to come

so many searching, seeking
ready for God’s message
the fields bursting with color
grain ripe for the harvest
souls, hearts, yearning;
but no workers in sight

arise, workers,
going into the fields,
the vineyards, the groves,
so many ready, waiting,
the harvest is plentiful,
oh reap them in

readying for the harvest – v2

the life of the worker
readying for the harvest
getting dirty, tired
sowing seeds, scattered
pulling weeds, fighting
to beat back the Devil
tending the garden
readying for the harvest
to save the faithful, the sheep,
standing, waiting in the field

weeds among the wheat – v3

God warns us
Christ in the parable
weeds among the wheat
walking here with us.

Planted in our hearts
the devil making mischief
planting at night
in the garden set apart.

Growing with us
until God’s harvest,
God will do the culling;
We just tend the garden.

may I hear you Lord
may I feel your presence
may your grace, this gift,
be a reality infused within me

may Your Spirit be like a thick blanket
putting me into Your love
may I know You more fully
as I walk in faith

may I be anointed for a purpose
may I conform my steps
even when I run away
on You I place my head.

weeds among the wheat – v2

Truth about the world
though we sometimes ignore it
God warns us,
Christ in the parable,
weeds among the wheat
walking here with us
within our neighbors,
not our concern,
planted in our hearts
the devil making mischief
planting at night
in the garden set apart
growing with us
within us, malignant,
until God’s harvest
God will do the culling
we just tend the garden.

struggling to be wheat

the weeds and wheat together
we are not to pull any out

An enemy planted weeds

the farmer planted seeds
scattered on the ground
good soil, nourished
prepared for a harvest
an enemy planted weeds
tares among the wheat
growing in the garden
for this season
together for the harvest
the culling of God.
