why do I paint myself red – v3

why do I see myself as guilty
why do I focus on the clay
why do I paint myself red
when God has washed me clean

why do I carry the blood
when Christ paid the cost
why do I paint myself with the stain
that Christ washed away

why do I hold onto my sin
when God has forgiven me completely
why don’t I forgive myself
why do I love so cheaply

Freed of this pain – v2

For the forgiver
the act of forgiving
forgiveness frees them of pain
the weight that they carry
burdening their life
freed of this pain
the weight they carried
giving the hurt to God
forgiving their neighbor
freeing themselves.

In His Mercy (2)

in His mercy
God has lifted me
by His grace
God has set me free
I am reborn
in His hands
back on the Potter’s wheel
by Christ’s death
my sins are washed away
by Christ’s empty tomb
I am saved
God has set me free
in this life
in Him I am born
I rise again

you should live

drop the stones you carry
your sins are forgiven
Christ already paid for them
you should live
God loves you too much
to let the past hold Him
you are already forgiven
it is a free gift
live like one forgiven
because you are
you should live
God loves you that much.
