Listening to the power of his speech,
to the prayers he had for his children
Reading the words of his son,
his namesake, written today
Thinking about his daughters,
in the world they live in today
all of the changes, all of the progress
since that day, so long ago
Praying for his daughters, and my girls
that the world in which they raise their children
would be the fulfillment of his dream
a world of equality and peace
