A Future of Life

In repentance, in asking for God’s mercy, for a bit of grace
the good thief, hanging on the cross, next to the Lord
granted forgiveness, new life
a future of life in heaven, in paradise
this day, this day of your death
with him in heaven
with the savior in paradise

So we too, sinner, broken,
cracked, flawed vessels
able to seek the grace of God,
the wonderful gift
with repentant hearts, the father,
welcoming us all
into his presence, into paradise
