sent, these disciples,
missionaries to the people
to evangelize, to spread the good news
to care and to heal, in His holy name
sent as you and I, to preach to the people
to share the love of God
and the story of his Son
casting the dust off their feet
for those who would not welcome
a warning, a blessing,
in the seeds left behind
We too, in this dark world
dust we must carry
on the journey in mission
we too must follow
going out into the world
with his grace and his message
offering love to our neighbors
even when they are not willing
to listen to us
