Turning my head,
drawn to the brilliant light
tearing through, the slate, the blues,
the white, the envelope of the clouds
not being denied, the yellow-white
the sun demanding center stage
pushing back the layers,
the fabric of the clouds
demanding to light my path
our walk to school this day
