His life, his presence
the Christ walking the earth
His sacrifice, foretold
told in parables
discerned, within our hearts
only truly understood as spirit
his time on this mortal coil
temporary, transitory
living as flesh and blood
as bread and living water
words of life, the words of spirit
eternal hope, in his days on this path
leading to the cross, to the grave
returning to spirit
so must we all
