Let go of the earthly

Let go of our former self
so we are called
to let go of the earthly
and focus on heaven above

There we truly live
risen already with Christ
our shells merely here below
while we walk the earth

Waiting for his final victory
when Christ will once more descend
we are to continue his work
until this age is done

Let go of the things of this earth
things that will return to the dust
focus on the things above
not the things that will rust
