The Trees Stripped Bare

The stronger winds
the rain in the night
exposing the limbs
the arms of the trees
stripped bare of their leaves

The colors muted
under the trees
a sea of color
as far as the eye can see

Wet folding in
an envelope of dew
drenched on the ground
more raking to do
