How blind we all are

God here with us
standing, walking on this journey
God’s presence all around us
yet we cannot see
How blind we are
thinking we are able
able to walk on this earth
relying on our own selves
able to part the waters
to walk to heaven
lifting ourselves up
by our own bootstraps,
instead falling in the dust

Proof

Proof, for the blind
those who could not see
proof of his deity, his holiness
proof to them of his blasphemy
of their judgment against him
Instead of bowing before him
tearing of his clothes
ashes and ridicule
crucifixion and death
