Known within the Gates
In the moment of entering
eternity, God’s kingdom
the realm of paradise
the courts of the Lord
Welcomed as a child
a son, a daughter of the most high
known within the gates
a sheep of the flock
Each of our days, our hairs
our lives numbered, known to God
each of us worthy, welcomed
by the grace of our Lord
Known, the walk of our lives
the lives we have touched
all of our days numbered, written
in the pages of our book
Our lives, our walk
each moment written down
like ripples on a pond
echoing on down
Down through the years, the lives
the others we have touched
echoing on, building
in waves of love from us

earlier poem,
“Known to God”
----------------
Known to God
Each one of us created
crafted out of the clay
made in the image of the creator
each of us known to God
None left behind
each one of us alike
none more important to God
all of us his children
each with a common stake
Not lost or anonymous
known by the creator
for each of us Christ came to earth
to save us, each one
from our debt of sin
