Ridden by the Snake – v2

ancient snake
the reptile within us
under the massive dome
our human brain
at our primal core

the master sleeping
deep down within us
until a trigger, fear
sets the snake to flight
reason asunder

unable to think
to speak full sentences
fragments of thought
blather only
while the snake
is in control
