The moon, a day before full,
suspended low to the horizon
barely above the tree line
hauntingly, disquiet settled
on us
It wasn’t the buck moon this
day
No it was a Blood Moon,
a harbinger, a
foretaste. . .
foreshadowing
judgment
Sky still and ashen gray
thick with clouds,
foreboding
that would spawn thunder
passion, fury
Air yet thin enough for the
ash to yield
to the blood moon
Round and terrible
the atmosphere pregnant
unsettling and intriguing
Slowly passing a car wreck
looking for the twisted
metal
praying for the people

the Mumbai train bombings happened this same day
the Mumbai train bombings happened this same day
I cannot remember whether this poem was reflective of that
or not
