the words swirling around my
mind
knowing the priests, the
leaders
were already waiting for me
The words of sacrifice
a new covenant with God
I could still feel his hands
touching me
as he humbly washed my feet
Now he leaned toward me
offering me the bread
dipped in his blood,
sacrifice
cutting into my very life
His body, his blood
the fresh bread and wine
looking down into my hands
staring into my soul
