neighbor, implicit in the
question,
a word with meaning
limiting the population
a trap he sought to set
in his question to Jesus.
If he answered, “everyone”,
that all are our neighbor,
blasphemy, heresy
making new law;
if he answered, “any of your
people”,
many would be left out
not neighbors at all.
