There is a need to speak, we
must act
we must not be silent
we must stand, as Ezekiel’s
call
no matter the discomfort
those who hate us
who class us unworthy
who don’t want the conflict,
the trouble
to just get along, easy
while there is injustice
We are to speak, to shout
to say no to power
to dissent of the silent
injustice
the unspoken conflicts
the silent demons stalking
gathering hearts, complacent
weak hearts of the peoples
buying the pablum, the bile
the soup of evil, quiet
The insidious silence
continuing the injustice
the hopelessness remaining
if the powerful can conquer
to stand on their neighbors
carving up the peoples
in the haves and have nots
lost in the mire
the truth of the muck.
