The hole created by Judas
a gaping wound opened
by his betrayal, rebellion
the circle now broken
needing another apostle
the twelve tribes present
to replace this disciple
who turned from the Christ
Two brought before them
Justus and Matthias
both there from the start
with Christ from his baptism
until he left this earth
each faithful servants
ready to fill the position
to stand with them
Yet the disciples, the apostles
raised them both up to God
to let him choose who would be selected
who would be chosen
to fill the vacancy created
to serve as a new apostle
a new disciple, called
in the ministry of Christ
