When the time was ripe
in the fullness of time
not a moment before
Christ came to earth
walking as a man
Come to free us from sin
the chains of the law
Christ, Emmauel
grace alone redeeming us
nothing we could pay
Now to spread the good news
of the Father, of the Son
the Spirit to guide us
the love God for each of us
sufficient to save the world
