Before him, the leper, hurting
crying before the Messiah
humble before the Christ
tears down his face
In pain there, in shame
cast out of the congregation
on his knees, in the dust
crying out for healing,
for Jesus’ healing touch
asking Christ to touch him
if he were to choose, to heal him
Even more than the healing
Jesus’ healing touch
changing his life forever
in that moment salvation
by the words of God
that Christ would choose to heal him
that Jesus wants to heal us
Reaching out and soothing
with his healing touching
bringing us back to him
into the loving arms of God
