gnawing on my spirit
naked, vulnerable
exposed, open,
aware of my brokenness
that I am chipped, scratched
by the snares of life
anxiety that grips me
worrying about phantoms
things of my past
things that may never be
needing comfort
protection of the Master
breathing in these words
of comfort, of life
that if God is with me
who can be against me
why do I fear in this life
when Christ has conquered
death
feeling alone, abandoned
but God is always present
just as He promised,
to the end of this age.
