It may not necessarily be elegant
maybe it is now rusted
but it is made for work
for a purpose, important
a simple tool, to be used
not for display, an heirloom;
A simple tool in the Potter’s hand
the Smithy at the bellows,
maybe the Worker in the field
turning soil for planting;
Any number of images
of the worker, the Creator
making things worthy
through those who were chosen
weak, chipped vessels
only to be willing;
God makes us worthy
to go and do the work.
