They are like white-washed tombs
dead inside, decaying,
but the emptiness is hidden;
Out of plain view, invisible,
but God knows our hearts.
God knows where faith is missing
when we have left, abandoned,
the faith when we believed;
Following the world, the chaos,
our flesh turning to
its siren’s song.
