hard to imagine, to
contemplate
a world without water
when we are so comfortable;
where is our outrage,
where is our mercy
at the suffering of others
we have become so
comfortable
unaware of our neighbors;
what will make us
stand up, take notice
how will we join
in justice for them
will we remain complacent
fat and lazy, the same;
will we never change
or will we join with them
demanding their rights
seeking justice for them
who will stand up
who will speak out
are we the people
to stand with our neighbors;
where there is need
let there be light
