the crucible of these times – v2

a nation at the flashpoint,
divided by party, by beliefs,
the furnace of scripture
the winnowing of the harrow
the crucible of these times
testing faith here below;
we need to cleave to God’s promise
to our calling, our commission
to ignore the storms around us
to remain focused on our goals
the hope, the promise of Christ
to always to be with us, forever,
the calling on our lives, our commission
to be His disciples, to shine His love
