the same returning today
like a moist plaster wall
a shroud over everything
a blanket lowered from heaven
smothering the sound
not clouds, not fog
someplace between them
the sky, the air itself
a mixture of moisture
hanging out my window
out of place for the season
the snow cover melting
but holding on to power
a space held between
heaven and earth
