chains of dread

weights of fear

chains of dread

disbelief, a lack of trust

freezing of confidence

sapping our strength

our courage, our witness

taking power from God

we may still be moving forward

maybe not fully immobilized

but doing so hesitantly

staying in our comfort

slowing our steps

carrying chains

we don’t need
