we are imprisoned by our fear
the chains we heap upon us
nothing of God, the Spirit
in the fear, the chains that
bind us
we are freed by Christ
by His sacrifice, His
promise
but we hold onto chains
of fear, of desperation
of not trusting, believing
of thinking we must fix it
each trial in this life
we don’t embrace fully
the faith we claim within us
we hold onto our fear
as a trusted baby blanket
