my demons laughing – v4

My demons must be laughing

pointing at me, mocking,

because I am carrying chains,

I am mired in my thoughts

I am stuck in the mud

when Christ set me free.

I worry, I doubt, I think

I have no hope, no salvation

for I am not following my path

the Spirit’s way to life;

I am wandering on this earth;

I am struggling, I am lost.

My demons must be laughing

pointing at me, mocking

waiting for me to stumble

for me to fall, to fail

for me to give in, give up

for me to follow the flesh.
