Watching their
videos, their anguish,
the cries of these noble people,
terror and devastation, unleashed,
posting words of despair, resolute,
against their crimes, their genocide…
Praying someone
in power,
in the West, in my own country,
will stop, that they will listen,
that they would end this madness,
this moment, this now, today…
They have the
power, responsibility,
the burden, the solemn duty to care,
their decisions have real meaning,
consequence now and in the future,
they must act wisely, compassionately,
Before it is too
late…
I pray that they
will wake up,
that the world will take action,
that they won’t be timid, complacent,
to end the madness, the terror,
starting right now, today…
